Introduction: I started writing sceenplays for my short personal films back in the 80s but realized prose was much easier on the pocketbook and just as much fun. I'm a freelance photographer working for community newspapers and corporate & nonprofit publications.
What sort of stories do you write? And if you have anything published, tell us about it (even if it's not SF.) We love to hear about all your successes.: I've written several short stories but I like novels. My first two books were serious young adult manuscripts that never found a publisher. Since then I decided to have fun and work on a series of sci-fi books that poke fun at the Missile Defense Initiative, US foreign policy, the Bush Administration, Midwestern farm towns, and pancakes. (Doesn't everyone write a book like this once in their life?) Z is for Xenophobe, the first book, was self- published in an abridged form, but has now been beefed up and is currently undergoing proofing to reappear in a NEW & IMPROVED, 3O% MORE READABLE version. I'm currently working on the second book, Y is for Wiseguy. Infact, I should be doing that right now!
What brings you to the SF Writers Meetup? Is there anything that you hope the group will do for you?: When I asked Eric H. if I could read at Dreamhaven, he set me up, no blood test, no background check. I was amazed. It doesn't happen like that at another place I could mention.
