Are you committed to writing? We are looking for serious wordsmiths to join our critique group located in Montgomery County, Maryland. We meet the 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month at 7pm in Olney, MD, at the Harris Teeter. Our meetings are about two hours in length. We have writers of different experience levels working in speculative, young adult, and dark fiction. We try to include a writing prompt at the end of every meeting.

The purpose of the group is for local writers to be able to gather and receive constructive criticism of their writing. The group includes several published authors in fiction, science fiction, fantasy and alternate history. The Clarksburg Literary Society began in 1879 and is back! The Academy was built in 1833 and was one of the first private institutions in Montgomery County. Clarksburg was the third largest city in the County by 1850. The Literary Society formed from local authors, poets and citizens to explore the richness of literaure.
