Meet other local Science Fiction Writers! Gather to network, exchange ideas, write, and socialize with others who are interested in writing sci-fi, fantasty, and other types of speculative fiction!
We are a scifi and fantasy writing fellowship. What does that mean? Well, I'll tell you my good reader... a group that meets once every two weeks to support each other's scifi and fantasy writing efforts with - editing, critiquing, discussing ideas or just encouraging our floundering efforts. We welcome any length piece of fantasy and science fiction. And be warned, as avid fans of fantasy and science fiction, you will be exposed to certain nerdishness and plenty of particular.
I decided to start the group because I need critical readings of my work. I have professional experience reading the fiction of others, and I feel confident about reading yours with a critical eye. I want to be with people who are willing to participate in a structured experience. We will email each other 1 to 2 pages--1,000 words limit--analyze these when we receive them, take our comments and address the writings in a circular manner at meetings--positive comments followed by suggestions--and …
This is a new writing group for fans of, and writers of, the sci-fi and fantasy genres. If you would like to meet other writers close to home, please join us to share ideas, support each other in our writing goals, get feedback, and socialize. Our first meeting will be scheduled in January. Details to follow. Let's start the New Year off as productive, inspired authors.
Do you have ideas running through your mind all the time that you would like to put into a story that you might even be able to get published one day? Would you like to have others read your writing or listen to your ideas and give you feedback? Would you like to give feedback to other writers about their stories? If yes, then this is the group for you. Who knows, maybe we'll even make some friends in the process of improving our writing. That sure sounds good to me. We'll write for the first 45 …
It's not you, it's me. . . It's not that I don't want to read your stuff -- I need to write my own first. This group is for writers who are Not looking to share their work or join a class, but who simply want to write. Get Out and Do It. Make it real. Just show up and do your thing. Polish that short story. Start a poem. Write a novel. Flash fiction. Blog. Start a screenplay. Freelance. Stay or leave whenever you want. . . Show up early or stay late to chat. See you there!
Welcome to Redmond Roaring Writers! We're a writing/critique group that meets every other Wednesday at the Redmond, WA Panera Bread. This is a drop-in group, meaning that all you need to do is to print out up to 6 pages (double-spaced) of your current work-in-progress. Be sure to check attendance so you know how many to print out. We critique each piece in turn, aiming for delivering helpful feedback in a supportive environment. Thank you for your interest, hope to see you soon!
Meetup details are available only to members.
This group is for women who want to become better fiction writers. If you have a novel you are working on and would like to improve it, this is the place to get excellent feedback. This is not a drop-in critique group where you read whatever you have written to a bunch of strangers. It is for serious writers. The goal of this meet-up is to create an ongoing group of women writers that offer support and constructive suggestions regarding plot, dialogue, and character development. This is not …

This group is a "real world" extension of the organization I founded on-line called the Indie Book Collective. We are all about helping authors figure out their publication options then helping them succeed (i.e. actually sell their books) through social media, Amazon optimization, and other promotional events. Each weekly meet-up will be filled with discussion on the latest news from the publishing world and how it effects the market and our sales (or plan to sell). No matter if you are only ev …
Having spent the last few decades reading this genre and wanting to share this passion with a group of like-minded readers, I was disappointed not to find an Eastside book club Meetup devoted to Sci-Fi and Fantasy. So, here we are. If you're passionate about reading and discussing Sci-Fi and Fantasy books, this is the place for you! Once a month we'll meet to discuss the current book selection, as well as select the book for the next month's reading. Everyone will get a chance to offer up their …
